I have "eaten" very small bites of summer holidays up until now..weekends in Hydra mostly.
My latest weekend there was the best though..i met ever so briefly a person that i have always liked from a far and that i always thought was very intriquing and a sui generis personality.
He is an actor/radio producer/writer and a true enfant terrible of the greek cultural scene;
Kostantinos Tzoumas.
The lovely thing about this man apart from the fact he makes my day almost everyday with his radioshow at 87.7 en lefko fm, is the air he carries. He is the epitome of style. When i saw him first a few years back, he was wearing a suit with a gillet. Very dandy, dapper, lovely..
So i was there at an art event in a restaurant/club in Hydra called Omilos -with lovely food-and when the art event started wearing out suddenly Tzoumas comes in, since the radio station he works has a party at the same place. On that Saturday night tall and very thin, dressed all in white, he looked like a greek marble column, like an erodium, like someone that doesnt belong..in the best sense of the phrase not belonging, he was sticking out.
So the party starts and this proud giraffe starts dancing.And he is so marvellous. I really havent seen a man dance so strikingly. He is 60 yrs old almost. He looks 45, he dances like Mick Jagger in his twenties. And so blase, but so wonderful. He outshined all the 30 yr old "hipster" idiots on the dancefloor.
I was dancing also, we kind of danced together and after about an hour, i land exhausted on the couch, he was already sitting next to me and he touched my arm, as if to check how warm i am. I asked him whether my temperature was "good enough" for him. He laughed. and then i told him he makes my mornings when i listen to his show. And like a shy boy he kissed me on the cheek.
And then we danced some more..
