Time flies when you are happy.
I think one realizes the relativity of time when in love.
It can seem like you know him for ever although you know each other for a very short time, but two weeks with him can seem like one day. Especially if you know he is going to leave..
But in reality the fluidity of time is frustrating but also so rewarding, and that makes life the lovely ride it is. And i am thinking that since my love will leave tomorrow and the relevance of time has this other aspect he made me realize: it is better to spend 5 minutes of pure happiness than 5 hours of mundane indifference. It took me some time to realize this and on my last birthday i promised to myself that from now on, i would try my best not to waste my time.
Time flies and the New Year has come and i realized that wow! I'm actually older. i do feel like a child still though... :) For this New Year, as i mentioned previously i need to lose control..but since i am a control freak i made a proper list of the so called New Year's resolutions. It is going to be short but this time doable.
1. Use my time wisely in work and pleasure.
2. Have more patience..let time flow!
3. Be less rigid with my viewpoints (my boyfriend has influenced me on this one)
4. Do more sports and that means - more yoga and a bit of running.
5. Don't talk about the past so much (it is a habit that i have in general and i catch myself being bored of myself when i do it..i think it is a trick i do..since i'm not comfortable talking about my present and my current thoughts)
6. Subsequently!! Express my current thoughts and feelings more often and more eloquently.
7. Be more understanding with colleagues, friends and loved ones.
8. Be less afraid to chase my dreams, be more forward with my wants.
9. Stop smoking (that was last year as well..i feel a real fool writing this again!)
10. Keep knitting. (i already picked up on my knitting again yeah!!! but i need to actually keep doing it!)
Talking about time i always hum in my head that 80s classic cheesy pop song that starts with "time time time" called Hazy Shade of Winter from the Bangles. When I'm in love i do prefer the Simon & Garfunkel version though :) its more mellow.
And thinking about time of course you think of watches that record time (what an illusion that is) but i do love watches simply because in this day and age they are useless and are more an ornament rather than a tool..So may i just propose the most elegant watch i know, that reminds me of the ones our grandmothers used to wear and is..actually timeless!
